Jazz, Instructure honors local educators

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Local educators will be recognized by Utah Jazz and Instructure, the creators of the Utah-based Canvas learning management system, throughout the season.

The program is called “Utah Jazz Most Valuable Educators, Presented by Instructure”. He invites residents of the state to nominate a local educator who not only has a positive impact in their schools and community, but also serves as an inspiration to students.

Instructure CEO Steve Daly said the company has seen first-hand the impact educators have on students around the world, especially during the pandemic.

“Here locally, our teachers in Utah have been able to serve students, whether virtual or in person, despite the challenges COVID has posed,” Daly said. “We are honored to be able to show our appreciation for the wonderful teaching that is happening every day in our community. “

The program will reward 21 educators in 21 home games throughout the 2021-22 regular season. The November 11 game against the Indiana Pacers at Vivint Arena will honor the first recipient.

Each recipient will be an Instructure guest at the game. They will receive a personalized Jazz jersey as well as a $ 1,000 class grant from the society and a special visit from the Jazz Bear mascot, Jazz staff and Instructure representatives.

“The Utah Jazz strongly believe in the power of education and we are thrilled to join Instructure in a program to honor and showcase the hard work of our educators,” said Utah Jazz President Jim Olson. “Teachers deserve this spotlight to be recognized, thanked and celebrated for the incredible dedication and support they provide to our children in the classroom. “

Instructure will also provide 300 tickets to educators in Utah to attend the March 14 jazz game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Throughout the game, educators will receive additional recognition for their work in the community and participate in arena activities for the night.

The 21 award recipients will be invited to attend an awards dinner with Jazz and Instructure on center court at Vivint Arena at the end of the season.
