Jaymi Sterling Named Among The Daily Record’s 2022 Law Leaders

Annapolis, MD- Jaymi Sterling, Anne Arundel County Assistant District Attorney was announced as the only state attorney to receive the 2022 “Leaders in the Law Award” from the Daily Record and the Maryland State Bar Association.

Awards are given in the following categories: Alternative Dispute Resolution, Negotiators, JD Generation, In-House Counsel, Champion of Justice, Law Firm Support Staff, Legal Leadership, Lifetime Achievement, and Paralegal.

Sterling has worked in the Anne Arundel County District Attorney’s Office since October 2020. Prior to that, she was the Assistant State Attorney with the St. Mary’s County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The daily record named Jaymi Sterling to her 2021 List of Maryland’s Top 100 Womennm Sterling was also appointed to the Daily Records 2016 List of Women Leaders in 2016. In May 2016, Sterling was named Office (Attorney) of the Year by the St. Mary’s County Department of Aging and Human Services, along with Triad/SALT (Seniors And Law Enforcement Together).

Sterling was also named Co-Chair of the Local and Specialty Liaison Committee of the Maryland State Bar Associationin addition to being appointed to Asian American Hate Crimes Task Force chaired by former US Attorney Robert K. Hur.

Sterling attended the University of Michigan (98-02) and earned a BA in political science, before heading to Francis King Carey Law School at the University of Maryland (03-06) and earning his Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

She began her career with the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office before joining the United States Attorney’s Office in 2016. After that, she spent nine years with the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office. St. Mary’s before assuming his current position in Anne Arundel County.
