Instructure, Kimono partnership opens SIS integration web
Structure has partnered with Kimono to extend the latter’s cloud-based interoperability platform to all Cloth users. Kimono was previously only available on Canvas for premium users, but the partnership allows the admin to use Kimono for two-way Student Information System (SIS) integration.
Canvas offers a number of partner-managed SIS integrations that enable external partners to deliver data integrations using Canvas open APIs, including SIS Engineering, JMC, RenWeb and Sungard (with the latter two in development by the vendors).
“The new partnership [with Kimono] solves the problem of syncing customer data and course listings between their SIS and Canvas, and allows Canvas customers to do things not possible with other integration options, such as enabling grade resending and support for custom configurations per school building,” according to a news release.
For an additional cost, Canvas customers can extend the integration to connect other apps like G Suite by Google Where Follett’s fate.
More information on SIS integrations can be found at Canvas Community Admin Group Site.
